What is UniPass Card System?

The UniPass Card system is the property of the University of Debrecen. The card represents that the card owner belongs to the University of Debrecen. The card is used for identification on the university campuses. Besides, it also provides access to those services that the owner applies for and to those which are provided by service suppliers within the university. Outside the university the card provides discounts to some given services. The previously ordered cards are valid in the UniPass system until their validity date.


How can I order a card?

Only those university students or staff members can apply for a card who has an active status at the University of Debrecen. During the year you can order your card at any time, as cards are produced every second week. To order a UniPass Card, log in (with your eduID and password) and upload your ID picture. FOR THE FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS:

First-year students of the English programme can order their cards continually during the academic year. Cards ordered during the orientation weeks are produced every week. Information about the produced card will be sent in an auto-reply. IMPORTANT: More information is available in the menu "APPLICATION/RECEIVING MY CARD" on our website. How can I get my card?

We have already produced the card for those active English-programme students who had an acceptable ID photo. If you do not have it yet, please check your UniPass profile. For logging in you need your eduID and your password.

1./ If you see your card number on your profile you can get your UniPass Card in the offices listed below:

  • For students of Medical School (Register's Office): room 105
  • For students of Non-Medical Programs (Coordinating Center for International Education): room 207
  • For PhD or ERASMUS students: Student Service Center (in Hungarian HAK) office: Egyetem square 1.
  • For staff of the University of Debrecen: We post your card to that university unit that you chose during the car application process.

2./ If you cannot see your card number on your profile, you can order your UniPass card with an appropriate ID picture. Card enrollment is possible during the whole year, cards are produced every second week. For more information check ORDERING PROCESS on our webpage. How long is my UniPass Card valid?

A UniPass Card is valid for 5 years. During these years the services which are connected to the card depend on the card owner’s status.


How much does the card cost?

Both staff members and students have a chance to apply for UniPass Card. Requesting a UniPass Card for the first time is FREE! However, as the card is the property of the University of Debrecen, in case it gets lost or damaged, the card owner needs to pay a replacement fee of 2.500 HUF. The owners are kindly requested to take care of their cards.


What are the most important functions of the university card?

  • Identification inside the institute
  • Entry to buildings for authorized persons in certain buildings and dormitories, having an entry access system.
  • Library card for registered readers in the University and National Library of the University of Debrecen (DEENK) and in its organisational units.
  • Pursuant to the ’Regulation of entry by motor vehicles and parking system’ vehicle owners having purchased the yearly parking passes may enter the area of the campuses with the help of the license plate recognition system and the UniPass Card.
  • Significant discounts for services can be available by the payment of Lifestyle Development Club Membership fee. UniFit and DEAC season tickets will be saved on the card in an electronic way so they can be used as entry tickets in both places as well.   • The UniPass Card may be also used as a payment device in university canteens, buffets, clubs, in the events of Nagyerdei Víztorony and the Campus Festival too, both are organised by Campus Nonprofit Közhasznú Ltd.

  • The UniBike bicycle rental system operating at the University of Debrecen is available to all holders of UniPass Cards, with the use of the card. For more information visit the UniBike website.
  • University citizens having a UniPass Card may enter the University Botanical Garden free of charge and visit the AGORA Science Center at reduced price.
