What is DEKa Card?

DEKa Card is a multi-purpose card for the students and staff of the University of Debrecen. It can be used for various purposes. It functions as an identity card while you are on University areas and University events, as well as at the Botanical Garden of the University of Debrecen.

Most important functions of the card:

  • acts as an identity card inside the Institution

  • provides entrance to the units of the University of Debrecen, University and National Library for the members of the Library

  • acts as a check-in card for those who are entitled to enter to the University building in those cases where the access controll system is built out

  • can be used for car entrance for those students who have bought the yearly pass

  • free entrance possibility to the Botanical Garden of the University of Debrecen

  • gives discount at the Agora Science Center

  • soon the card will have a cash substituting function and will give discounts from the services of those restaurants and buffets which are located in the campuses

How long is DEKa Card valid?
DEKa card is valid for 5 years. During this time the services which are connected to the card depend on the student status.

How can I order my card?

You don't have to order the card because we automatically prepare it for you. We need an appropriate passport sized photo of you though, so if you get a message asking you to provide one, please do it.

How can I get my card?

The Registrar’s office will contact you about the place and the time of getting the card.

How much does it cost if I lost it?

DEKa card is the property of the University of Debrecen. If it is lost or damaged you need to pay a replacement fee which is 4.900 HUF. Please take care of it!
